Consider what a Republican president could mean to the future of the U.S.: With that and a 60 vote Senate majority (able to stop a Democratic filibuster) there would be nothing except the courts to stop the Railroading of America. Everything that we believe in and have worked for will be at risk. Think about it. Corporate polluters sitting on environmental review boards, with environmental problems "solved" by redefining the terms of discourse. Religious conservatives setting social policy. Future Supreme Court appointments designated and approved by politicians who owe a political debt to narrow interest groups. And all of this would be only a first step on the way to a future vision of America that is inconsistant with the principles on which this nation was founded.
